Angela's Passion Continues...

And the passion continues….Over three decades ago, Angela Guido had a vision of sharing the benefits of healthy, clean beauty with the community. The founder and owner of the Daryl Christopher Aveda Lifestyle salon and spa, Angela has a deep passion for wellness and a meaningful commitment to natural, non-toxic ingredients in products. Growing up with these beliefs, her daughter Daryl has now become a business partner and visionary of Daryl Christopher.

This past week-end Angela and Daryl attended the W.E.L.L. Summit at the Innovation and Design Center. Guests enjoyed the panels of speakers to connect with “Beauty Inside and Out”. Learning trends in Healthy Eating, Importance of Meditation, Prayer, Yoga and Clean Beauty, they participated in the Workshop Series and mentoring sessions exploring these topics and connecting with an amazing community focused on wellness, self-care and empowerment.

With three award winning salons, Daryl Christopher started in Wayland, on the Weston line on Boston Post Road. Opening the first Non-smoking salon in 1980, The American Cancer Society awarded DC a special citation at the Massachusetts State house. In 1985 Daryl Christopher opened a second location on Newbury Street, Boston, the first Female with 100% salon ownership. This salon won “Best of Boston” and “Boston’s Best” from Boston magazine and The Improper Bostonian throughout its 25 year presence.

American Salon Magazine awarded Angela “America’s Salon Owner of the Year” in 1991.

A third Daryl Christopher location opened in 2000 at Healthpoint in Waltham. The same healthy beliefs and passion for wellness continued with a following of trusted clients.

In 2015 Daryl Christopher consolidated the top talent from all three locations, under one roof at 1265 Main Street, #115, Waltham. Here a partnership with Aveda was created, having the same wellness beliefs and a commitment to giving back to the community. Award winning services using Aveda plant derived, natural ingredients for hair, hair color and skincare services was a perfect marriage.

Both companies have a strong belief of giving back and being responsible for protecting our environment in the world we live in. Aveda is raising funds for CLEAN WATER. A global concern that needs attention. Since 2007 Aveda has raised millions of dollars to help CLEAN water in 85 countries which has helped 920,000 people. This April, during Earth Month, Daryl Christopher is raising funds to donate to the Clean Water Fund of Massachusetts. Each service provider will donate a complimentary service to the winner of a salon and spa drawing. When a client donates $5.00 to the Clean Water Fund, their name is entered into the drawing. On April 30th, each service provider will select a winner from their client’s donations. 100% of proceeds from the sale of “Light the Way” Aveda Natural Soy candles are also being donated to the fund. A $14.00 purchase will be donated toward the fund.

And our passion for caring and wellness continues to bring awareness to healthy solutions to make our world a safer and non-toxic world. The use of biodegradable paper to highlight hair color is another way we help the environment. The paper breaks down in the landfill, foil for highlighting hair does not. Hair coloring, balayage and highlighting with paper is the most popular salon service; it is a specialty that we are proud of and a form of art and creativity we love to do!
